It is therefore suitable for ALL A Level / GCSE exam specifications. Essentially it is a great summary to topics*, acting as a revision resource tool for the below topics. This resource is a complete revision lesson for Origins of the Universe, within Theme B. Included is a retrieval grid challenge starter to recap key words and some key concepts, big picture of our learning slide, learning outcomes, what the AQA exam spec says, RAG rate learning and learning concepts with an A3 revision worksheet for students to work on throughout the lesson. The lesson is designed to be teacher led, however there is opportunities to use a revision textbook and for discussion to suit your teaching style. There is also space for students to do some dual coding on the A3 revision sheet and to assess their gained knowledge and understanding by answering some exam questions. There is also a 10 question revision quiz at the end of the lesson which could also be used as a retrieval and recap starter next lesson. All resources and slides are provided. It is a booklet of all the possible essay titles for the exam. The first page gives a summary of subject, with exam details and how students will be assessed when writing essays. There, is then an explanation of how this booklet should be used. After students, have revised the topic they should be pick a question to answer, to further expand on their knowledge and test themselves to see what they have learnt, by practically applying it to writing essays, as this is how they are assessed. To do this, they should, use a sheet of paper to do the ‘blurt’ method, and then print out and essay planner sheet (See shops!) to plan their essay. They should then write the essay and hand it to the teacher. or, alternatively, you can use this as a guide to form part of your revision plan, or timed essays in class after a topic is taught. For best use, print into a booklet and colour! But you can print in B&W. This resource is a complete exam revision lesson, in the format of a series of 1, 2, 4, 5 and 12 marker questions taken from a mixture of Theme A (Relationships and Families) and Theme D (Religion. Peace and Conflict) to support students with their timing. I framed this lesson as a ‘Revision Cafe’ lesson as a means for student to informally practice their exam technique, times and structures. I brought some donuts in for students (hence the donut theme). The questions and slides have the suggested time to be spent answering the questions on a timer which plays automatically when needed for that question - this is to help students with their timings etc. All answers, prompts and exam specific are included in the slides. There are also slides for students to independently reflect on their learning and revision so far. It is a revision PowerPoint, containing some key A01/A02 information on the key ethical issue of Utilitarianism. It could be used as a handout, for students to make notes and summarise into their own words. Or, it could be used as an example for a flip learning activity, where students take control of their learning. They could do this by summarising what they know and creating a presentation to the rest of the class in groups.
